Prerequisite training
The course participant must be in the possession of a valid certificate Advanced Fire-Fighting, STCW A-VI/3. This certificate may not be older than 5 years at the start of the refresher course. You must submit a copy of this certificate by e-mail before the start of the course.
Medical requirement(s)
The course participant must be in the possession of a valid seafarers medical certificate. You must submit a copy of the medical certificate by e-mail before the start of the course.

Intended for

The leader of a Fire-fighting and Rescue team on board a vessel.

Objectives

To train the participants in leading a Fire-fighting and Rescue team on board a vessel during exercises and actual incidents.

Course content

  • Theory in fire prevention and fire-fighting en the use of fire-fighting equipment and installations and recognition of hazardous materials.
  • Theory and practical training in the use of Personal Protective Equipment such as Breathing Apparatus and searching for victims.
  • Theory and practical training in the tasks of a Fire-fighting and Rescue team.
  • Organizing and evaluating exercises.
  • Inspection and maintenance of fire-fighting equipment, installation and gear.
  • Theory and practical training in life saving first aid.
  • Practical fire-fighting training in various situations.
